Flamengo axe Filipe Luis – despite 8-0 win
March 3 – Brazilian giants Flamengo have dismissed manager Filipe Luis – despite an 8-0 win against Madureira in the local state championship.
The writing had been on the wall after a slow start in the domestic league and defeats both the Brazilian and South American Super Cup. The qualification for the final of the Rio state championship against provincial Madureira came too late to save Luis, who will rank as one of the most successful managers to lead Flamengo,
