HRANA: Over 1,000 civilians killed and more than 5,400 wounded in five days of Iran conflict
As the war launched by the United States and Israel against Iran entered its fifth day, the Human Rights Activists News Agency reported that 1,097 civilians have been killed and 5,402 others wounded so far.
The U.S.-based rights group said on Wednesday that 181 children under the age of 10 were among the dead and 100 children were among the wounded.
HRANA said it has also received reports of 880 additional deaths that are still being verified and classified. The group reported that at least 104 attacks were carried out across 19 provinces of Iran in the past 24 hours, resulting in 31 civilian casualties.
It said the figures were compiled through an established network of collaborators inside Iran. According to the agency, the data is based on field reports, local calls, medical and emergency sources, civil society networks and publicly available materials, including images, videos and official statements, with each incident undergoing internal review before publication.
In the first wave of strikes, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and several senior officials, including the defense minister and the commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, were killed.
The Iranian Red Crescent Society has confirmed more than 555 deaths but has not specified how many were civilians or military personnel.
