What's on Netflix has reported that Netflix and NBC have struck a deal to bring the hit show St. Denis Medical to the streaming service. All 18 episodes of the medical sitcom's first season will premiere on Netflix in America on April 1, 2026. So far, there is no confirmation that the show will be added to Netflix's libraries in any other countries.
St. Denis Medical has already been a success for NBC. When it debuted in November 2024, Deadline reported that its premiere's audience had grown by 85% in the seven days after its release, to 7.4 million viewers. More recently, in February 2026, the show was renewed for a third season, with NBC executive Lisa Katz praising its appeal. "Both St. Denis Medical and Happy’s Place have delivered comedic brilliance over their first two seasons, truly connecting with our audience with hilarious characters, and remain hugely important and successful programs."
St. Denis Medical is a mockumentary sitcom set in a fictional hospital that was co-created by Justin Spitzer, who previously created Superstore and worked on Scrubs and The Office. The show brings together the beloved comedic actors Wendi McLendon-Covey and David Alan Grier with respected drama star Allison Tolman. It also features Superstore'sKaliko Kauahi and Josh Lawson, the latter of whom also stars in the current Mortal Kombat movie franchise, with Mekki Leeper from Jury Duty and Kahyun Kim.
Another NBC Sitcom Is Coming to Netflix on April 1
Before it was revealed that St. Denis Medical will be coming to Netflix, another NBC sitcom was reported to be making the same move. Also on April 1, 2026, the first season of Happy's Place will premiere on the streaming service as a report from What's on Netflix confirmed. Just like St. Denis Medical, it will only stream in the United States. Happy's Place stars Reba McEntire, Belissa Escobedo, Melissa Peterman, and Rex Linn. Notably, McEntire and Peterman previously co-starred in the beloved sitcom Reba.
