Woman Opens Fire on Rihanna's Home With AR-15-Style Rifle While Singer Was Inside

A woman was taken into custody Sunday afternoon after opening fire on Rihanna's Los Angeles home while the singer was inside, police said.

The shooting was reported at approximately 1:15 p.m. at the Beverly Crest property Rihanna shares with A$AP Rocky, located in an upscale neighborhood just outside Beverly Hills. The suspect, described as a woman around 30 years old, drove up to the home and discharged multiple rounds from an AR-15-style rifle toward the property. Four rounds or fragments struck parts of the home, according to the LAPD.

Rihanna Was Home During the Shooting

Rihanna was home at the time of the shooting and was not injured. It was not immediately clear whether A$AP Rocky or the couple's three children — RZA, Riot Rose, and Rocki — were present at the time.

Officers responded quickly and took the suspect into custody without further incident. The weapon was recovered at the scene. LAPD Captain Mike Bland said additional information, including booking charges, would be released Monday. The LAPD's elite Robbery-Homicide Division is now leading the investigation into a possible motive.

Aerial footage from NBC Los Angeles showed what appeared to be bullet holes in a gate at the property, with yellow crime scene tape blocking the public street in front of the home.
