‘SHAME!’ Jesse Jackson Jr. asks that politics be left out of father’s memorial service. See what Democrat presidents do
Jesse Jackson Jr. has delivered a harsh rebuke to Democrat ex-presidents Joe Biden and Barack Obama for turning a memorial service for his father, civil riots activist Jesse Jackson, into a venomous anti-Trump rally.
Jesse Jackson died at the age of 84 in Chicago several weeks ago and after his death, his son pleaded with those who would be attending to leave politics at home, and focus on his father’s legacy.
He said, “Do not bring your politics out of respect to Rev. Jesse Jackson, and the life that he lived, to these ongoing services. Come respectful, and come to say thank you. But these ongoing services are welcome to ALL—Democrat, Republican, liberal, and conservative. Right-wing, left-wing. Because his life is broad enough to cover the full spectrum of what it means to be an American.”
Democrats couldn’t, or wouldn’t.
Obama delivered a venomous diatribe against President Donald Trump and Biden scolded the congregation gathered to honor Jesse Jackson Sr. with a lesson in how much smarter he, Biden, is than listeners.
Jackson Sr. was the founder of the Rainbow PUSH Coalition and a two-time Democrat presidential candidate. His service was attended by, in addition to Obama and Biden, the Clintons, Kamala Harris and others.
“Yesterday I listened for several hours of three United States presidents who do not know Jesse Jackson,” the son charged.
“He maintained a tense relationship with the political order, not because the presidents were white or black, but the demands of our message, the demands of speaking for the least of these — those who are disinherited, the damned, the dispossessed, the disrespected — demanded not Democratic or Republican solutions, but demanded a consistent, prophetic voice that at no point in time sold us out as a people,” he said.

The Gateway Pundit commented that Jesse Jackson Jr. “has come out swinging against the Democrats who shamelessly turned his father’s funeral into a hate-filled anti-Trump spectacle.”
He had explained earlier, “Dad believed that funerals were not for the dearly departed. He believed funerals were for the living. He believed they were great gathering meetings.
“No two lives in human history will have the same number of people attending their funerals, nor will the same people be at their funerals. Your friends aren’t my friends, and my friends aren’t your friends. We don’t know the same people. You don’t know the same people that I know.
“Do not bring your politics, out of respect to Reverend Jesse Jackson and the life that he lived, to these homegoing services. Come respectfully, and come to say thank you.
“But these homegoing services are welcome to all — Democrat, Republican, liberal, and conservative; right-wing, left-wing — because his life is broad enough to cover the full spectrum of what it means to be an American.
“We only ask people to come and be respectful in the context of the extraordinary life that he lived. Dad would have wanted us to have a great meeting to discuss our differences, to find ways of moving forward and moving together.”
The Gateway Pundit explained the service actually “devolved into a Democrat rally, with Barack Obama, Joe Biden, and Bill Clinton, along with Kamala Harris and Hillary Clinton, using the podium to launch vicious attacks on President Trump and his administration.”

And Obama delivered a rant against Trump and his policies.
He claimed, “Each day we wake up to some new assault on our democratic institutions, another setback to the idea of the rule of law, an offense to common decency, every day you wake up to things you just didn’t think were possible.
“Everywhere we see greed and bigotry being celebrated and bullying and mockery masquerading as strength while ignorance and dishonesty, and cruelty and corruption are reaping untold rewards every single day. If we don’t step up, no one else will.”
The Trump administration reacted to that. Delivered by spokesman Steven Cheung in an interview with the Daily Mail, he said, “Barack Hussein Obama is a classless moron who clearly suffers from a debilitating and severe case of Trump Derangement Syndrome that has rotted his brain. He is a total disgrace for all the hurt he has caused this country, and history will not judge him well.”
