Kanye West Announces Comeback Concert in Los Angeles

One of the world's most notable artists is set to perform at an NFL stadium, but it won't be for the next Super Bowl.

Kanye West - or "Ye" as he has rebranded himself - has announced a concert for April 3rd at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles. West is dubbing the concert the "Homecoming" show, and it will come alongside his anticipated 12th studio album.

Fans who are interested in presale tickets for the show can sign up by pre-saving the rapper's new album on their streaming service of choice.

West's website also allows fans to register for updates on ticket opportunities. General sale to the public will open on March 11 at 10 AM Pacific time, and a select number of those who register will be chosen for complimentary tickets.

West's New Album and Formal Apology

"Bully," West's 12th studio album, is set to release on March 20. The album has been delayed multiple times over the last year, and will come after West's public apology for his past conduct.

The artist took out a full-page ad in the Wall Street Journal back in January, looking to atone for past comments and actions that created controversy. He attributed his conduct to poor mental health and untreated mental illness, saying that many of his tirades and outbursts were during manic episodes.

"My words as a leader in my community have global impact and influence. In my mania, I lost complete sight of that," West said in his full-page apology.

"As I find my new baseline and new center through an effective regime of medication, therapy, exercise, and clean living, I have newfound, much-needed clarity. I am pouring my energy into positive, meaningful art: music, clothing, design, and other new ideas to help the world.

I’m not asking for sympathy, or a free pass, though I aspire to earn your forgiveness. I write today simply to ask for your patience and understanding as I find my way home."

Future Tour Plans For West Are Possible

West has yet to announce a formal tour this summer, but he has another concert date currently set for July 18 at the RCF Arena in Reggio Emilia, Italy.

The "homecoming" moniker for the tour is likely a reference to his longtime residence in the Los Angeles area, where he once lived during his marriage to businesswoman and cultural figure Kim Kardashian.

West last performed in the Los Angeles area during the opening night of the Rolling Loud festival, alongside Ty Dolla $ign at Hollywood Park in Inglewood. Prior to the Los Angeles show at SoFi Stadium, he held a show at La Mexico Arena in Mexico City - his first visit to the region after a near twenty-year absence.
