Trump Offers Confusing Explanation for How War in Iran Is Both 'Very Complete' & 'Just the Beginning' Hours Before Extreme New Threat

Donald Trump is threatening to escalate his war with Iran, which he confusingly stated was both “very complete” and “just the beginning.”

The 79-year-old president addressed the press on Monday (March 9). During the conference, he was asked to explain how he could justify telling CBS News earlier in the day that the war was “very complete, pretty much” while Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth has implied that it’s “just the beginning.”

Trump attempted to explain how both claims could make sense. Hours later, he issued a new threat to Iran.

“I think you could say both,” Trump told a reporter when asked to explain the conflicting claims. “It’s the beginning of building a new country. But they certainly… They have no navy, they have no air force, they have no anti-aircraft equipment. It’s all been blown up. They have no radar. They have no telecommunications. And they have no leadership. It’s all gone.”

He continued, saying, “We could call it a tremendous success right now as we leave here. Or we could go further. And we’re going to go further.”

The president further claimed that “the big risk” involving Iran had “been over for three days.”

As he continued to answer questions, he provided more of an explanation for what it will look like when Trump is ready to move on from the conflict.

He said that the end will look like “where they’re not going to be starting the following day to develop a nuclear weapon.”

Trump also said that United States allies in the Middle East were “very lucky that I was president instead of somebody else” after implying that Iran was planning to execute strikes in the area.

He said that the country had plans to “take over the Middle East.”

After arguing both sides of the conflicting phrases, Trump warned Iran that he was prepared to ramp up the strikes, seemingly implying that the war was indeed not over.

“If Iran does anything that stops the flow of Oil within the Strait of Hormuz, they will be hit by the United States of America TWENTY TIMES HARDER than they have been hit thus far,” he threatened on Truth Social.

He continued, writing, “Additionally, we will take out easily destroyable targets that will make it virtually impossible for Iran to ever be built back, as a Nation, again — Death, Fire, and Fury will reign upon them — But I hope, and pray, that it does not happen!”

The president’s latest remarks on oil come after he insulted Americans who were concerned that the war would lead to higher gas prices.
