Trump accidentally highlights that he has faced no accountability on Epstein files

President Donald Trump shared a story reporting that former Harvard President Larry Summers would resign from academia over his appearance in the Epstein files, highlighting how the commander-in-chief and others have faced no accountability for similar sins.

In a Truth Social post on Wednesday, Trump jokingly proclaimed that "PUNXSUTAWNEY PHIL SEES ZERO MORE YEARS OF SUMMERS."

"Summers To Resign From Teaching Appointments, Relinquish University Professorship Over Epstein Ties," the post Trump shared read, linking to The Harvard Crimson.

"Summers' standing began to collapse after a cache of emails disclosed in November revealed details of a long-standing personal relationship between Summers and convicted sex offender Jeffrey E. Epstein," the linked report noted.

Trump, however, appeared far more times in the files on the infamous sex offender. The New York Times found that Trump was referenced in more than 5,300 of the files released so far. Reportedly, hundreds of thousands of files have not been made public.

The U.S. president has yet to sit for a congressional deposition or face any other significant repercussions for his friendship with Epstein.
