I'd be interested to see if Davies takes stock in the summer and decides that there needs to be a different approach to things.
Coaches aren't stuck on one setting, they can adapt. If he fronts up to the bosses and says, here's what went wrong, here's what I've learned, here's what I'll do to fix it, then good line management should give him a chance.
I wouldn't be gutted at all if he's manager next season, quite frankly I hope he is.
