Five Family Members Killed in Pakistan by Rocket Fired From Afghanistan
Pakistani media reported that at least five members of a family were killed after a rocket fired from Afghanistan struck their home in northwestern Pakistan, intensifying concerns over rising cross-border tensions.
According to the reports, the victims were killed in the village of Salarzai in Bajaur district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Another Pakistani broadcaster, Geo News, also reported the incident but said four people were killed when the rocket hit the residential house.
The broadcaster added that the rocket was allegedly fired by forces of the Taliban from across the border, though authorities have not publicly confirmed further details.
Pakistani media reports have so far provided limited information about the circumstances surrounding the attack, including the exact time of the strike and whether any injuries were reported.
Tensions along the border between Pakistan and Afghanistan have escalated in recent months, with both sides accusing each other of cross-border attacks and militant activity.
In recent days, the Taliban have repeatedly reported drone strikes and border clashes following Pakistani air raids targeting suspected militant positions inside Afghanistan.
The latest incident underscores the fragile security situation along the Afghanistan-Pakistan border, raising fears that continued exchanges of fire could further escalate regional instability.
