Famagusta tourism board promotes year-round travel at global trade fairs
The Famagusta district used its presence at tourism exhibitions in Belgrade, Berlin and Poland to promote its year-round tourism offer and present what officials described as the real picture in Cyprus following the latest developments in the Middle East.
According to an announcement by the Famagusta regional tourism board (Etap), the organisation maintained a strong presence in international tourism markets through its participation in key tourism exhibitions in Serbia and Germany, as well as in the roadshow held in Poland by the Deputy Ministry of Tourism.
During the exhibitions and accompanying business meetings, Etap Famagusta representatives held contacts with hundreds of tour operators, tourism bodies and potential visitors from Serbia, Germany and Poland, while also engaging with stakeholders from other important markets including the United Kingdom, Austria and Switzerland.
The board said the meetings offered an important opportunity to further strengthen the Famagusta district’s outward-looking strategy, while also reinforcing already established cooperation with tourism professionals and sector bodies.
At the same time, it said the contacts allowed representatives to convey the real situation in Cyprus during what it described as a critical period, while promoting the district’s tourism product as an attractive destination for all-year tourism, rather than only for the summer season.
Particular emphasis, according to the announcement, was placed on the opportunities offered by the whole free Famagusta area for authentic experiences, quality services and a broad range of activities throughout the year.
Etap Famagusta added that contacts with foreign organisations, tourism professionals and partners from its target markets will continue in the period ahead through meetings to be held in Cyprus.
In parallel, the tourism board said it is moving forward with targeted initiatives in online tools and digital promotion, aiming to further strengthen the Famagusta district’s presence in international markets.
