If you don’t remember, back in 2024, Demi Lovato was one of the performers at the American Heart Association’s Red Dress Collection Concert.
At the event, she sang her hit song “Heart Attack.”
At the time, the decision to choose this song went viral, for obvious reasons! If you were unaware, the event was dedicated to raising awareness about cardiovascular diseases, including heart attacks.
When this went viral, Demi‘s rep released a statement to EW, explaining the decision.
“She spoke on the mind-heart connection. It was actually a beautiful moment.”
Now, in a new interview with Z100 on Thursday morning (March 19), Elvis Duran asked Demi about the decision.

Demi clarified: “I wanna say they asked me to sing that. Because I flagged it beforehand and was like, ‘Ummm…Isn’t this not the vibe?’ They were like, ‘No, they wanna hear it.’ I was like, ‘Okay?’ And then of course people online are like, ‘Why did she sing that?’”
“Y’all, it wasn’t me! I flagged it!” she said. You can hear Demi talk about it at 19:30 in the above clip.
