Back in management, taking over Rotherham United until the end of the season.

Brings back a lot of memories.

Did a rescue job at Kilmarnock and Bury in back to back seasons from similar positions a while ago. Did OK at Killie after, went tits up at Bury (but as a club they were cooked anyway).

Had his flaws but we've had far worse managers since him. He did well to keep that team up in 2013/14. History was always going to judge him more kindly at Blues than the present did.

Yeah I'm sure it was you that backed him to the hilt during his awful reign when just about every blues fan had had enough of him way before the end.

The bloke was an abomination and I still find it incredible that some people almost look back fondly at his tenure.

I said that he did well to keep us up in the circumstances, and as I said at the time history would judge him far more kindly than the present did at the time. I got a lot of stick for that, but as usual I was right on both counts. It is also worth noting that we have had multiple managers since who have been far worse.

Anything else?

"History would judge him far more kindly"

If by "history" you actually mean "some very opinionated but not particularly expert people on an internet forum", then yes you are right. Well done you.

Fwiw I would say the only gaffer we've had that was "far worse" is Rooney.

I know people will chuck Karanka and Cotterill into the mix but imo those 3 were all as bad as each other.

No I mean history because Clark's era is history, and as history often does it judges him more kindly than the whirlwind of the present day did at the time.

Disagree on Karanka and Cotterill too. They were miles worse, and the stats back me up on that. You have forgotten Zola as well

Hilarious - and very revealing - that you actually think that history is a thing that judges, er, history. History is the study of the past and - get this - that study is done by people, not history itself.

Not only do you not understand that, you also don't understand numbers either. You may well be able to show me that Clark got more points per game than other managers but as anyone with the most basic understanding of analysis will know, there are many, many variables underlying that data which points per game doesn't capture. You can prove nothing with your stats, as much as you'd like to think otherwise.
