'So You Think You Can Dance' Winner Joshua Allen's Cause of Death Revealed

So You Think You Can Dancer winner Joshua Allen died in September 2025 and now the cause of his death has been revealed.

Joshua‘s death has been ruled a suicide, caused by blunt force injuries, according to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office, per Entertainment Weekly.

The 36-year-old dancer died after he was struck by a train in Fort Worth, Texas. Later, police were called at his funeral after a clash broke out between attendees.

It was one of his family members who initially told TMZ about his cause of death, saying, “One of the last things he said was to keep God first at all times. You have to be real with yourself before you can be real with anybody else.”

Joshua won the fourth season of the dancing competition show when he was just 18.

“We are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Joshua Allen, winner of Season 4 of So You Think You Can Dance and a gifted performer whose talent left a lasting impact on the dance community. Joshua’s powerful artistry, charisma, and authenticity captured the hearts of millions and helped elevate the profile of dance on television. His contributions to the art form will not be forgotten. Our thoughts are with Joshua’s family, loved ones, and fans during this difficult time,” said Fox and Dick Clark Productions in a statement at the time of Joshua‘s death.

The same season that he won featured the late Stephen “tWitch” Boss as the runner-up.

Stephen was 40 when he died in December 2022 and the cause of his death was believed to be suicide as well.
