Son of WWE Legend Dead at 39 Following 'Major Health Crisis'

Daniel Moody, the son of WWE legend and Hall of Famer Paul Bearer, passed away earlier this week. He was 39.

According to a GoFundMe that had been started on Moody's behalf, the father of one, who wrestled independently under the name DJ Pringle, was hospitalized on Nov. 7, 2025 for a procedure and "suffered a major health crisis."

"My wife and I have been helping his daughter, Danielle, take care of his insurance premiums but the bills are piling up," the GoFundMe bio reads. "We need help to make sure he gets the best of care. If you’ve ever went to a show with DJ Pringle on the poster and loved to hate him….please donate."

Moody's death 'hits on a different level' for wrestling world

Steve Stasiak of Book Pro Wrestlers announced Moody's death in a post on social media.

“Daniel was the son of Paul Bearer — a man whose voice, presence, and character became part of wrestling history forever. And like so many second-generation names, Daniel carried that connection with him, while also being his own person in the wrestling world,” Stasiak wrote.

“For those who met him, worked with him, or simply followed along over the years, this one hits on a different level. There’s history there. There’s family there. And there’s a bond to the business that never really leaves.

“Moments like this remind you how small the wrestling world really is… and how deep those roots go.”

The Moody name is wrestling royalty

Daniel Moody's father William Alvin Moody broke into wrestling in the 1980s under the name Percy Pringle. He eventually rose to prominence playing the character of Paul Bearer, the manager of WWE stars The Undertaker and Kane, the latter of whom was Bearer's storyline son and The Undertaker's half-brother.

Paul Bearer died on March 5, 2013 at the age of 58. He was posthumously inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2014, with his sons Daniel and Michael accepting the honor on his behalf.
