Passover flight demand to Cyprus surges amid tensions

Demand for flights to Cyprus has risen sharply in the run-up to the Jewish Passover celebrations, which begin at the start of April.

According to the Cyprus News Agency, Cyprus has consistently ranked among the top ten Passover destinations for Israeli travellers, with demand increasing further since the start of the year, even prior to the latest developments in the Middle East.

This surge led to a rise in advance bookings, particularly for Larnaca and Paphos.

However, the trend has since reversed due to escalating tensions involving the United States, Iran and Israel, raising concerns over the upcoming tourist season.

In the wake of recent developments, foreign airlines have cancelled all flights to and from Tel Aviv, leaving only a limited number of Israeli carriers operating routes, significantly reducing seat availability.

According to the Israel daily Yedioth Ahronoth, the reduced supply has driven round-trip ticket prices to Larnaca and Paphos up to €450.
