Five-star Barca smash Real Madrid to win Spanish Super Cup

Kylian Mbappe put Madrid ahead but a dominant Barcelona hit five in response before their goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny was sent off in the second half. Madrid were hoping to avenge their 4-0 home defeat by Barcelona in October's La Liga Clasico but instead were left battered and bruised by their arch-rivals in Jeddah. Embrocation (12 replies)

Just a random thought apropos of nothing really.

In the old days when teams took the field there used to be an overwhelming pong of embrocation. It's a long time since I've stood near the tunnel but I'm assuming this isn't the case anymore. In which case, when did it stop and what (if anything) do they now smear themselves with instead?

Re: Embrocation

Yeah, it was hoss liniment oil we called it, I used to put so much on my first sliding tackle would last for 40 yards.
Loved the smell of the stuff, can still feel the butterflies in my stomach remembering that smell and just thinking about grabbing that big brown bottle on the table in the middle of the changing room before KO.
Never felt right to not have it on for a game, even start and end of season when it was warm and dry.
Like others said though, treated with respect near the crown jewels!
