Records shattered as US heatwave moves eastward

Dozens of cities from California to Colorado recorded their highest temperatures ever for the month of March, according to the National Weather Service Weather Prediction Center. On Saturday, areas that saw new records for the highest temperatures in March included 92 Fahrenheit (33.3C) recorded in Kansas City, Missouri, and North Platte, Nebraska. LeBron James breaks record for most NBA games played

Vladimir Tarasenko lifts Wild past Stars in Central Division showdown

Vladimir Tarasenko scored the winning goal 3:06 into overtime to lift the Minnesota Wild to a 2-1 win over the Dallas Stars on Saturday afternoon in Saint Paul, Minn.

Bobby Brink also scored for Minnesota (40-19-12, 92 points), which won in overtime for the second time in its past three games. Brink also picked up an assist on the winning goal.

I love that. Listening to that, in my mind I'm back to about 1975, school holidays, waiting for the Test match to start at 11am (from memory). The White Horses theme tune does that for me as well.
