Ministry orders IndiGo to cut flights by 10 per cent

ET was first to report on Monday that the airline was likely to be ordered to cut flights. The carrier had a dominant 65% market share prior to the latest development. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) had on Tuesday morning ordered the airline to reduce flights by 5% following a meeting between civil aviation minister Ram Mohan Naidu and IndiGo CEO Pieter Elbers.

Florida executes a man convicted of killing a woman during a 1989 home invasion

A man convicted of killing a woman during a home invasion robbery has been executed in Florida. Mark Allen Geralds received a lethal injection Tuesday evening at Florida State Prison near Starke. He was sentenced to death for the fatal stabbing of Tressa Pettibone at her Panama City home on Feb. 1, 1989. Court records show the woman’s 8-year-old son returned from school that day to find his mother dead on the kitchen floor. Geralds was a carpenter who had previously done remodeling work at the home.
