Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan open new air route

Tengrinews.kz - A new air route, T916, has been established through the airspace of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. This route offers an additional option for flights from Europe to Southeast Asia, reports the Ministry of Transport.

Since its inauguration, 19 flights have been completed from Europe to Southeast Asia using this route. It is expected to become more popular by the end of the summer season as airlines adjust to the new path.

"Airlines such as Lufthansa Cargo (Germany), Cargolux (Luxembourg), Cargolux Italy (Italy), Nomad Aviation (Switzerland), Western Global Airlines (USA), and Aerologic Cargo Airlines (Germany) have already utilized the new route," the ministry stated.

The total length of the T916 air corridor is 2,187 kilometers, with 437 kilometers traversing Uzbekistan's airspace and the remaining 1,750 kilometers over Kazakhstan.

The new route was opened at the suggestion of airlines and Uzbekistan's air navigation provider, UzAeroNavigation.

Experts from KazAeroNavigation noted that the new air corridor will increase the attractiveness of Kazakhstan's airspace for foreign airlines and help reduce the workload on air traffic controllers at the South Kazakhstan Regional Air Traffic Service Center.
