Pomegranate soda from Afghanistan pulled from Kyrgyzstan markets

Tengrinews.kz - Batches of the pomegranate carbonated drink "Golden Life," produced in Afghanistan, have been taken off the market in Bishkek, according to 24.kg.

An unscheduled inspection was carried out in the capital of Kyrgyzstan to identify and seize these products. The Centre for State Epidemiological Surveillance conducted the inspection across 58 retail outlets, trade centers, and market complexes.

Laboratory tests revealed that the soda contains the coloring agent E122 azorubin, which can negatively affect children's activity and attention.

"As a result, 65 directives were issued to business owners to withdraw the products and return them to suppliers. A total of 7,356 cans of the drink were seized," stated the report.
