Child assault in Almaty nursery captured on video

Tengrinews.kz - Video of beating of a child in a nursery-kindergarten in Almaty has spread in social networks. The incident was investigated by the city's police department and education department.

According to the mother, her daughter was beaten by a boy from the group. He beat her on the head and face for more than three minutes. The girl was crying and screaming, but no adult came to help. The incident was recorded by a surveillance camera.

"When I came to the kindergarten, my daughter's face was swollen and her right side was numb and there was a haematoma on her lip. The teachers didn't notice the injury, but the children said that she had been beaten up by a boy from the group. I immediately called an ambulance and the police. The video shows how the girl was beaten, but no one helped her," the mother said.

The Education Department of Almaty reported that after the incident, a strict reprimand was announced to the teacher and assistant teacher of the nursery-kindergarten.

"At the time of the incident the childminder was absent due to paperwork preparation. The kindergarten held an unscheduled meeting on the protection of children.The surveillance cameras have been seized by the police, and investigative actions are ongoing," the department stated.
