Eight people died in road accident in Kazakhstan

Tengrinews.kz - A severe road accident has resulted in the deaths of eight individuals, including three children.
According to the regional police department, on August 7, at the 862nd kilometer of the Samara-Shymkent highway, a collision occurred between a truck and a minivan.

“The driver of the Toyota Ipsum and five of his passengers died at the scene, including three children. Preliminary reports indicate that the children and their parents were traveling to another region for a football competition,” said Aidos Kulzhanov, head of the MPS department.

Preliminary information reveals that the deceased were students in the 6th and 7th grades, traveling with their parents, who also perished in the accident. The truck driver was unharmed. The causes of the accident are under investigation.
Later reports confirmed that rescuers recovered the bodies of two more children from the vehicle, bringing the total number of fatalities to eight.
According to preliminary data, among the victims were sixth- and seventh-grade students. They were in the car with their parents, who also died.
As Sultan Zhaiyk, head of the Aktobe Oblast Education Department, said during the briefing, the car with the children left Kumkudyk village. There the children were to take part in a football tournament organised by a private charitable foundation.
The truck driver is currently providing statements to the police, and the causes of the accident are being investigated.
