Access issues with YouTube reported in Russia
Tengrinews.kz - Many users in Russia are experiencing problems accessing the video hosting platform YouTube, according to Russian media.
Users are reporting that the main page and app of the platform are not loading when connected via home networks. However, YouTube generally remains accessible and functional when connected through mobile networks.
According to Downdetector, reports of issues are coming from Tomsk, Saint Petersburg, Leningrad Region, and other areas. Users most frequently complain about the platform freezing or displaying errors. Many encounter a black screen or app crashes. Reports indicate that the platform shows no internet connection and prevents users from logging in.
Possible causes for the outage could include server maintenance, access restrictions imposed by Roskomnadzor, or issues with internet connectivity on the provider's end.
Kazakhs have not reported any issues accessing the platform.
Rostelecom attributed the restrictions to technical problems with Google’s equipment responsible for video caching.
