Kazakh official died in Paris
Tengrinews.kz - The head of the Almaty Sports Department, Erden Khairullin, has passed away in Paris.
The information was confirmed by the Akimat of Almaty.
"We extend our deepest condolences to the family and loved ones following the untimely death of the Head of the Almaty Sports Department, Erden Khaireullin," reads the statement.
The Ministry of Tourism and Sports confirmed the news.
"Erden Khaireullin passed away suddenly in Paris during the night," ministry stated.
The Almaty Akimat reported that the official was on a business trip at the time of his passing. The ministry clarified that he was not part of the official Olympic delegation.
"Khairullin died due to heart problems," said the advisor to the minister.
Erden Khairullin graduated from the National Technical University named after K.I.Satbaev, with degrees in "Automation and Control" and "Economics," and also completed the Academy of Civil Aviation, earning a master's degree in aviation technology.
From 2012 to 2019, he worked in the Akim's administration of Almaly district, initially as a chief specialist and later as the head of the Department for Entrepreneurship and Industry Development.
From 2019 to 2022, he served as the deputy akim of the Almaly District in Almaty.
Since May 2022, he had held the position of head of the Almaty Sports Department.
