Kazakhstanis complained about delays and service of the low-cost carrier

Tengrinews.kz - A Kazakhstani woman complained about a multi-hour delay of her flight from Almaty to Aktau. The press service of a well-known low-cost airline responded to her complaint.
A woman contacted Tengrinews.kz asking to investigate the reasons for such a long delay of the flight. According to her, the flight KC 7175 from Almaty to Aktau was scheduled to depart on September 12 at 12:45 PM. At the airport, passengers were informed of the flight delay and were given meal vouchers.

"We waited for the voucher for 1.5 hours and then another 47 minutes for the food. Then we learned that the flight was postponed due to weather. Initially, we were informed via SMS of a new departure time at 21:00 p.m., later changed to 5 a.m. on September 13. I had already left the airport but had to return because WhatsApp said that information could only be obtained on-site," she said.

According to the passenger, it was difficult to get clear answers from the airport staff.

"I couldn't carry my things, so i left them in a luggage storage. I waited for the promised hotel for an hour and then decided to rent an apartment for a short stay. It was already late in the evening. The ticket cost 46,919 tenge, the luggage storage was 1,500 tenge, the food in the cafeteria was tasteless, and I spent an additional 9,150 tenge. The apartment cost 19,000 tenge. In total, the expenses amounted to over 70,000 tenge," the Kazakhstani woman noted.

In response to the complaint, the press service of the Kazakh airline FlyArystan stated:

"The flight was delayed due to the late arrival of the aircraft caused by strong winds in Aktau. Currently, only one runway is operational at Aktau Airport, as the second one is closed for maintenance," the press service reported.

As the carrier clarified, "all passengers who approached the representatives were provided with water and a voucher for a hot meal."

"Due to the lack of available hotel rooms, some passengers were unable to check in. They have been given guarantees for compensation of their expenses. We apologize for the inconvenience and remind everyone that flight safety is our top priority," the press service reported.

The Kazakhstani woman reported that, after many hours of waiting, she finally departed from Almaty to Aktau at 5 a.m. on September 13.
