OFFICIAL STATEMENT ISSUED BY CURVA NORD MILANO

It was our intention to wait a little longer before revealing the guidelines of the new course we’ve decided to take in the Second Green Ring. However, the continuous rumors in the press and messages circulating in the ultras world have led us to speed up this process to prevent any misinterpretations of our intentions.

First and foremost, we want to clarify that NOTHING HAS BEEN DECIDED "IN AGREEMENT WITH THE POLICE AND AUTHORITIES," contrary to what some misleading messages and media outlets have suggested. The new curve guidelines are the result of the collective effort of all groups belonging to the North, without any external influence!

Now, let's go step by step...

The media and judicial storm that has hit the North this time truly threatened to erase 55 years of Nerazzurri ultras history. However, the heart of the North is proving stronger than anything. Thanks to the commitment of all those who believe in the values at the core of Nerazzurri support, we are emerging from this crisis stronger and more aware of the mistakes made.

It is important to acknowledge that the downward spiral that hit us was partly due to our own negligence in monitoring the organizational and financial management of the curve.

To fully understand the situation that led some of the curve’s key members and representatives to this point, we need to start with the economic management of the North.

The North’s revenue has always been distributed among the various groups, which used the funds from merchandise and sticker sales to self-finance, help their members with travel costs, contribute to shared expenses like choreography, and cover costs for support tools like drums, megaphones, and flags.

Tickets obtained through Inter's regular distribution channels were regularly paid for. The only advantage offered by the club, for public order and organizational needs, was a priority channel for purchasing tickets. This was meant to allow the most dedicated fans to always be present and lead the support for the team.

In exchange for this "service," provided by those managing this organizational structure, the groups were allowed to request a small markup on the tickets, which was set aside for common extraordinary expenses, such as legal protection for attendees, storage for materials, and transportation for choreographies.

This organizational and financial structure is similar to what happens in most other fan groups. However, what is the difference, and how did we reach the economic escalation that sparked obvious speculative interests?

Our situation changed when ticket sales, merchandise, and contributions to the curve were consolidated under a few individuals who managed and controlled all the funds. This new management system, which began after the pandemic, allowed these few people to handle increasingly large sums of money, further supported by the unification of the curve under one banner representing the entire Nerazzurri ultras movement.

These centralizations of "power" went unnoticed even by the most regular members, who, in good faith and despite no longer having access to financial accounts, still benefited from services like priority access to away tickets and covered costs for choreography.

Everything appeared to be functioning well: the team's positive results and the organizational efficiency of those managing the North led everyone to believe we had reached the perfect balance, without realizing what we were contributing to.

Those managing the North, with the consent of unsuspecting members, gained total freedom in the production of merchandise, collection of contributions, sponsorships, and determining the ticket markup. These speculative activities didn’t even reach the closest members of the leadership, who, thanks to their undeniable skills in promoting the "Curva Nord" brand, were able to exponentially increase the revenue.

None of us were aware of the alleged profits from other activities, and we were all just as surprised by the media reports we’ve recently learned about.

And now?!?

Now, after learning a hard lesson from the mistakes made, the North has reorganized by eliminating centralized economic control and returning to a group-based structure. Each group will coordinate the support in their respective areas of the Second Green Ring, as they did historically.

The support management will now be shared by a leadership group made up of one representative from each group. There will no longer be a "ticket service," meaning tickets, especially for away games, must be purchased individually by attendees.

Away games will pose the biggest challenge. The North will still provide transportation, but the number of available spots will depend on how many fans have obtained tickets, with all the challenges that come with it.

With this new structure and total transparency in the division of roles, we are confident that the North will never again be exposed to speculations or opportunism. We will return to a system based on merit, not profit.

And the banners?!?

As for the away banners, the North will be represented by the "Secondo Anello Verde" banner. For home games, since the police have banned the OLD FANS, BOYS, VIKING, and BRIGATA banners associated with some of the accused individuals, all groups have decided, as some had already hinted, to unite under a single banner. This banner will be submitted for authorization ahead of the October 28 match, and it will stand as a call to our identity and tradition: "SINCE 1969… UNITED, PROUD, AND UNDEFEATED."

Since this information has also leaked, we can confirm that if, starting next season, the banned banners are permitted again with new representatives replacing those involved in the legal cases, we will restore the North's traditional aesthetic with the banners of all the groups back in place.

Finally, we announce that all official communication from the North will be restricted to the Facebook page "L’URLO DELLA NORD" and the new Instagram profile "secondanelloverde_1969."

We ask everyone to continue trusting us and to remain vigilant so that these mistakes are not repeated.
