Series of earthquakes recorded in Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and China

Tengrinews.kz – A series of earthquakes struck Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and China on Saturday afternoon, according to data from the Kazakhstan National Data Center (KNDC).

The first earthquake, with a magnitude of 4.8, was recorded at 10:45 AM Astana time near the border of China and Kyrgyzstan. The European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) reported that the epicenter was located 169 kilometers northwest of the Chinese city of Tumxuk and 140 kilometers south of Kyzyl-Suu in Kyrgyzstan.

A stronger tremor, registering a magnitude of 6, occurred at 1:33 PM Astana time in Tajikistan. EMSC identified the epicenter as 28 kilometers northeast of Karakenja.

The final earthquake of the day, with a magnitude of 4.9, struck China at 3:06 PM Astana time. EMSC reported its epicenter to be 368 kilometers southeast of Almaty and 90 kilometers northeast of Aksu, China.

No reports of casualties or significant damage have been received so far.

On November 20, an earthquake with a magnitude of 4.6 was recorded in Kyrgyzstan. Its epicenter was located 689 kilometers southwest of Almaty.
