World’s oldest man has died at age 112

Tengrinews.kz - John Tinniswood, the world’s oldest man, has passed away at the age of 112 in the United Kingdom, according to Sky News.
Born in Liverpool on August 26, 1912 - the same year the Titanic sank - Tinniswood became the oldest living man on the planet in April 2024, following the death of 114-year-old Juan Vicente Perez from Venezuela.
According to representatives of the Guinness World Records, Tinniswood passed away on November 25 in a retirement home in Southport.

"His last day was surrounded by music and love," his family shared.

The family expressed their gratitude to all those who had cared for him over the years, including the staff of the Hollies Care Home, doctors, nurses, occupational therapists, and other personnel from the National Health Service.
Tinniswood lived through both World Wars. During World War II, he served in an administrative role with the Army Pay Corps, managing accounting, auditing, organizing food supplies, and assisting with the evacuation of soldiers.
After the war, he continued his career in accounting, working for companies like Shell and BP before retiring in 1972.
Tinniswood met his wife, Blodwen, at a dance in Liverpool. The couple was married for 44 years until her passing in 1986. They had a daughter, Susan, four grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

"John had many fine qualities. He was intelligent, decisive, brave, calm in any crisis, talented at maths, and a great conversationalist," his loved ones shared.

John Tinniswood is remembered as the fourth oldest man in the history of the United Kingdom.
Earlier, a 114-year-old American woman shared her three secrets to a long life.
