Missing fishermen were rescued in Karaganda region
Tengrinews.kz - Rescuers have located two fishermen who went missing in the Karaganda region, according to the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES).
On the morning of December 22, the two men set out for a fishing trip but lost their way. They had driven to Lake Shybyndy in the Karaganda region but were unable to return on their own.
The fishermen were found in the steppe near the village of Shiderty and escorted to the settlement of Molodezhny in Osakarovsky District. According to the MES, they did not require medical assistance.
The rescued men recorded a video message to thank the emergency service team.
"We express our gratitude to the valiant MES service. Without the guys, we would have frozen. They worked quickly and found us in the steppe, like a needle in a haystack. About an hour and a half after we called, they arrived and pulled us out of the snow trap. Thank you so much," one of the men said.
The MES urges all citizens to follow safety rules and not to neglect them.
Earlier, MES rescuers in Kazakhstan assisted in freeing 29 large trucks stuck in snow on a national highway in the Mangystau Region.
