Earthquake strikes 46 kilometers from Almaty

Tengrinews.kz – An earthquake has occurred near Almaty.
According to the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre, the quake struck on 12 January at 11:44 AM. The epicentre was located 46 kilometres southeast of Almaty and 32 kilometres southeast of Talgar. The magnitude of the tremors was 2.9.

The National Scientific Center for Seismological Observations and Research of the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported a magnitude of 4.0. It was noted that the tremors were not felt on the territory of Kazakhstan.
