Kazhydromet issues warning for residents of Ust-Kamenogorsk, Ridder and Semey

The information concerns the air quality forecast for Wednesday, 25 February.

According to forecasters, adverse meteorological conditions are expected in these cities.

Adverse meteorological conditions in the form of air pollution are a combination of short-term meteorological factors (calm, light wind, fog, inversion) that contribute to the accumulation of harmful (polluting) substances in the surface layer of the atmosphere.

On Wednesday, dry weather is forecast in East Kazakhstan Region. Fog is expected in the north, east and south of the region. The northwesterly wind will be 9–14 meters per second. Air temperature at night will be −30…−35 °C, in the north and center down to −38, in the south around −25, during the day −22…−27 °C, in the south −18 °C. In Ust-Kamenogorsk it will be partly cloudy, without precipitation. Fog is expected at night and in the morning. The northwesterly wind will be 1–6 meters per second. Air temperature at night will be −30…−32 °C, during the day −23…−25 °C.

In Semey it will be partly cloudy, without precipitation. Fog is possible at night and in the morning. The northeasterly wind will be 1–6 meters per second. Air temperature at night will be −30…−32 °C, during the day −20…−22 °C.
