Kazakh woman raped in Indian private clinic, media reports

Tengrinews.kz - A 25-year-old nurse from India sexually assaulted a 50-year-old woman from Kazakhstan, according to the Times of India.

The accused, Thakur Singh from Tijara in Rajasthan, had been working at the hospital as an orderly for the past year.

According to the police, the patient arrived in India with her daughter on July 12. She underwent surgery on Sunday and was then moved to a recovery room. Thakur claimed he inappropriately touched the woman while changing her diaper.

However, on the same day, the accused allegedly sexually assaulted her multiple times. The woman then reported the incident to her daughter, who informed the hospital administration and called the police.

Based on the complaint filed by the patient's daughter, a criminal case was initiated on the same day for rape. Thakur was arrested and taken into custody on July 15.

Deputy Commissioner Nishant Kumar Yadav stated that this incident represents a serious lapse on the part of the hospital. In a statement, the hospital emphasized their commitment to patient safety.

"In light of the allegation, we will not leave any stone unturned to ensure that all parties involved are treated with fairness and that a thorough and impartial investigation is conducted so that truth and justice prevails. The person is temporarily off duty until the investigation is complete," it said.
