Counterfeit vodka factory uncovered in southern Kazakhstan
Tengrinews.kz - A clandestine workshop producing counterfeit alcohol under well-known brands has been discovered in Shymkent, according to the Ministry of Justice.
During a joint operation, officials from the Department of Justice of Shymkent and police detained a local resident who organized the illegal production and distribution of counterfeit alcoholic beverages.
According to Talgat Uali, an official representative of the Ministry of Justice, the suspect used not only popular brands such as "Absolut" and "Zelenaya Marka”, but also lesser-known ones like "Aydabulskaya" and "Qulan".
"During the raid, approximately 3,000 liters of unknown origin liquid, equipment for filtration and bottling, 720 caps with the Absolut trademark, and 1,400 caps with the 'Zelenaya Marka' trademark were seized. An administrative case has been initiated against the detainee for the illegal use of trademarked goods," reported Talgat Uali.
The case file has already been submitted to the court.
The Ministry of Justice has warned citizens to avoid consuming counterfeit products, as they may contain toxic substances harmful to health.
