Fatal traffic accident in Karaganda: businessman asked for house arrest

The suspect in the fatal accident case in Karaganda has petitioned the court to change his detention measure from custody to house arrest. The entrepreneur’s lawyer claims that Sergey Kamaev requires serious medical examination and treatment.
Judge Mayra Ibragimova of the Karaganda regional court upheld the investigative court’s decision to keep Kamaev in custody for two months.
Recall that the fatal traffic accident involving six vehicles occurred on September 2 on the busy Amanzholov Street. According to the press service of the Police Department of the Karaganda region, Lexus driver Sergey Kamaev violated the speed limit and crashed into several vehicles on the road. As a result of the mass collision, the driver of the regional agriculture department was killed. Among the injured passengers of one of the cars was a pregnant woman, who was hospitalized with various injuries. She is still receiving treatment.
