China temporarily closes borders with Kazakhstan
Tengrinews.kz - China is temporarily closing its automobile checkpoints with Kazakhstan. This was announced by the State revenue committee.
"In connection with the celebration of the founding of the People's Republic of China, from October 1 to October 3, 2024, the passage of people, vehicles, and goods at the automobile checkpoints on the Kazakhstan-China border will not be allowed," the statement said.
It is noted that railway checkpoints crossings on the Kazakhstan-China border will continue to operate as usual. Carriers and all those wishing to cross the border are advised to plan their routes in advance, considering the imposed restrictions.
Recall that earlier President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev sent a congratulatory telegram to Chinese President Xi Jinping. Tokayev congratulated Xi Jinping and the Chinese people on the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China on behalf of all Kazakhstanis and himself.
