“Climbing over walls”: villagers in England complain about tourists

Tengrinews.kz - The picturesque village of Bibury in England has gained fame for its colorful landscapes. However, local residents are unhappy with the influx of tourists.
According to the Daily Mail, the behavior of some travelers leaves much to be desired: several have been spotted too close to people's homes, where they were trying to take the perfect shot. Tourists hunting for perfect photos have been seen climbing over walls and garden fences.
Bibury is located on the River Coln in Gloucestershire and is best known for its 14th-century cottages. The village is considered one of the most photographed attractions in the Cotswolds.

Residents of Bibury have long complained that their roads are clogged with cars and coaches carrying huge crowds of visitors. The picturesque countryside and quaint cottages attract guests from afar.
A 27-year-old teacher, Sarah, and her sister, 25-year-old recruitment worker Martha, shared that they were shocked by the sight of dozens of foreign tourists arriving in Bibury, who "clambering off a coach so they could grab photographs of locals' homes and front gardens."

"The coach pulled up in the middle of the road because there was nowhere to park, opened the door and everybody flooded out, cameras in hand, and they were literally standing there taking photographs of each other in front of people's houses," the publication quotes her as saying.

One local resident, 80-year-old Anthony White, who lived in San Francisco for many years, noted that the noise and congestion caused by the visitors are "worse than anything he experienced in the West Coast American city." According to him, since moving here a couple of years ago, he has become increasingly concerned about the "horrendous effects of over tourism here."
However, 59-year-old village resident Sarah believes that locals should also consider the economic benefits that tourists bring.
Earlier, tourists in Spain may be fined up to 750 euros for violating etiquette rules.
