“Locked with horns”: argali rescued near Astana
Tengrinews.kz - A video has appeared on social networks in which employees of the Buiratau National Park Nurlan Shakhatov and Kanat Alzhanov rescue two male argali who had locked their powerful horns. The animals were very weak, but could not separate.
The video was published on the official Instagram page of the Forestry and Wildlife Committee. The footage shows how the inspectors, having noticed the locked argali, got out of the car and decided to help them. The men used their hands to separate the two animals.

“Right now, the argali are in the autumn rut, during which the males fight fiercely for females,” the committee’s post states.
The Buiratau National Park is located in two regions - Karaganda and Akmola. It is specified that the argali were rescued not far from Astana in the Yereymentau branch of the national park in the Akmola region.
Earlier, a Kazakh traveler captured footage of two argali (wild sheep) fighting in the Karatau Nature Reserve in the Turkestan region.
