Hundreds of trucks stuck on Kazakhstan-Uzbekistan border
Tengrinews.kz - The State Revenue Committee of the Ministry of Finance reported a significant accumulation of trucks at the Tazhen checkpoint on the Kazakh-Uzbek border.
According to the department, more than 400 trucks are waiting to leave Kazakhstan.
"The reason for the increase in traffic is the opening of the Daut-Ata-Konyrat highway (400 kilometers) in the Republic of Uzbekistan, which led to an influx of trucks," the report says.
The department explained that, despite the design capacity of Tazhen, designed for 150 trucks per day in one direction, employees of the checkpoint, which is under reconstruction, ensure the passage of up to 200-250 vehicles daily.
In connection with the current situation, the committee recommends that carriers take into account possible delays and, if possible, choose alternative routes for transporting goods in order to avoid long waits at the border.
Earlier, unusual tour launched between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.
