Tokayev and Putin begin high-level talks in Astana
Tengrinews.kz – President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Russian President Vladimir Putin have begun negotiations in Astana following a ceremonial welcome at the Akorda residence, according to Akorda's press service.
During the official welcome, the two leaders introduced members of their respective delegations. The commander of the honor guard delivered a salute, followed by the national anthems of Kazakhstan and Russia.
The ceremony concluded with both presidents proceeding to the negotiation hall for discussions.
President Putin arrived in Kazakhstan earlier today for a state visit. The two leaders are scheduled to participate in the 20th Forum of Interregional Cooperation between Kazakhstan and Russia via video conference.
On November 28, Astana will host a session of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) Council, chaired by President Tokayev. The agenda includes discussions on pressing regional and international security issues, with several key documents expected to be signed.
