Meteorologists warned Astana, Almaty, and 11 other cities

Tengrinews.kz - Kazhydromet has issued a warning for residents of Astana, Almaty, and 11 other cities in Kazakhstan.

"On November 29, 2024, adverse weather conditions contributing to air pollution are expected in Almaty, Astana, Aktobe, Ust-Kamenogorsk, Semey, Ridder, Karaganda, Temirtau, Balkhash, Zhezkazgan, Pavlodar, Kokshetau, and Petropavlovsk," the statement reads.

These conditions involve a combination of short-term meteorological factors such as still air, light winds, fog, and temperature inversions that promote the accumulation of harmful pollutants in the lower atmosphere.
Earlier, meteorologists released a consultative weather forecast for the winter of 2024–2025, predicting "temperature swings" with sharp fluctuations and challenging weather conditions for Kazakhstan.
