Hundreds of trucks stranded at the Kazakhstan-Russia border
Tengrinews.kz - A queue of 450-500 trucks heading to Russia has formed at the Syrym automobile checkpoint, according to the State Revenue Committee.
According to the committee, the cause is adverse weather conditions in the Western Kazakhstan and Samara regions.
Snowfalls and blizzards have led to temporary movement restrictions on federal highways in Russia. According to Russia's Ministry of Emergency Situations, the restrictions will last until 10:00 PM on December 13.
Truck drivers have been advised to wait out the bad weather at camping sites or change their route through other checkpoints.
