Storm warnings issued in Astana and 13 other regions

Tengrinews.kz - Storm warnings have been issued for Astana and other regions of Kazakhstan on December 23 due to severe weather.

According to Kazhydromet, much of the country will experience snow with blizzards, while the western regions will see rain and snow. Strong winds, fog, and ice are expected in various areas.

In Astana, ground blizzards are expected at times on December 23.

In Shymkent, fog is forecast at night and in the morning.

In the Akmola Region, ground blizzards are expected, with fog in the eastern areas at night and in the morning.

In the North Kazakhstan Region, snow is forecast. Ground blizzards and icy conditions are expected in the south and west, with fog in the east at night and in the morning.

In the Kostanay Region, ground blizzards and icy conditions are anticipated. Fog is expected in the west and south at night and in the morning.

In the Zhetysu Region, fog is forecast, with east winds in the Alakol Lakes area reaching 15-20 m/s.

In the Abai and East Kazakhstan Regions, fog is expected.

In the Turkestan Region, fog is forecast, with ground blizzards on mountain passes. East winds on the mountain passes will reach 15-20 m/s.

In the Pavlodar Region, fog is expected.

In the Atyrau Region, icy conditions are anticipated. Southeast winds will reach gusts of 15-20 m/s during the day in the northeast.

In the West Kazakhstan Region, icy conditions and fog are forecast. Southeast winds will gust to 15-20 m/s during the day in the west and north.

In the Karaganda Region, ground blizzards are expected in the north and east during the day, with fog in the south and east at night and in the morning.

In the Ulytau Region, fog is expected at night and in the morning.

In the Mangystau Region, southeast winds will gust to 15-20 m/s in the west, north, and central areas.
