Posters have appeared on walls of Azerbaijan's consulate in Aktau
Tengrinews.kz - Residents of Mangystau expressed condolences to the families and loved ones of Azerbaijani citizens who lost their lives in the recent plane crash.
On December 26, flowers were laid at the General Consulate of Azerbaijan in Aktau in memory of the victims, and posters were placed on the consulate's walls.
"Regional leaders, sharing the grief of the brotherly nation, urged the families of the victims to remain calm and wished prosperity to the Azerbaijani people," the press service of the Mangystau regional akimat (local government administration) stated.
Messages of support and sympathy for the Azerbaijani people were written in a condolence book to honor the victims.

Earlier, the Azerbaijan Airlines plane, flying from Baku (Azerbaijan) to Grozny (Russia), crashed three kilometers from Aktau at 11:30 AM local time on December 25. The passenger flight was unable to land in Grozny due to heavy fog. It was first redirected to Makhachkala, and then to Aktau.
There are several versions of the cause of the crash. According to one version, the crash was caused by a collision of the plane with a flock of birds. Other media outlets report that an oxygen tank exploded on board. The Embraer lost control and crashed when it was less than 3 minutes away from Aktau Airport.
