122 dead as passenger plane crashes in South Korea airport

Tengrinews.kz - A Jeju Air passenger plane crashed while landing at Muan International Airport in South Korea, killing 122 people, according to Yonhap.
The incident occurred at 9:07 A.M. local time (5:07 A.M. Astana time) when the flight from Bangkok overshot the runway and collided with a barrier.
The plane was carrying 181 people, including six crew members. Most passengers were South Korean nationals, except for two Thai citizens.
Reports indicate that 122 people have died, with the death toll expected to rise. So far, only two survivors have been confirmed: one crew member and one passenger.
Local media footage shows the aircraft attempting to land without deploying its landing gear. The plane skidded, hit a concrete wall, exploded, and was engulfed in flames.
The explosion nearly destroyed the aircraft entirely. Around 80 firefighters have been dispatched to the scene, and rescue operations are ongoing.

Earlier, an Azerbaijan Airlines plane, flying from Baku (Azerbaijan) to Grozny (Russia), crashed three kilometers from Aktau at 11:30 A.M. local time on December 25. The passenger flight was unable to land in Grozny due to heavy fog, first it was redirected to Makhachkala, and then to Aktau.
