Fog will cover most of Kazakhstan on December 30
Tengrinews.kz - According to Kazhydromet, fog will blanket most of Kazakhstan on December 30, with storm warnings issued for 15 regions and Astana.
Astana: Fog expected at night and in the morning.
Karaganda Region: Ground blizzards expected in the west, south, and east during the day.
Ulytau Region: Ground blizzards forecast in the north, south, and east during the day.
Kyzylorda Region: Ice and fog expected in the east, north, and central areas.
Akmola Region: Fog expected in the north and east.
Aktobe Region: Fog expected in the north and east.
Zhambyl Region: Fog and ice predicted in the north, south, and mountainous areas. Southwest winds of 15-20 m/s, with gusts up to 23-28 m/s, expected in the southwest, northeast, and mountainous areas.
Atyrau Region: Fog forecast for the west, south, and east.
Turkestan Region: Heavy precipitation (rain and snow) expected in mountainous and foothill areas in the morning and afternoon. Fog expected at night and in the morning in the west, south, and mountainous regions. Southwest winds of 15-20 m/s, with gusts of 23-28 m/s on mountain passes at night and in the morning.
West Kazakhstan Region: Ice and fog forecast for the north, west, and east.
Kostanay Region: Fog predicted for the north and east.
Mangystau Region: Fog and ice expected in the west, south, and central areas at night and in the morning.
North Kazakhstan Region: Fog expected.
Almaty Region: A significant rise in water levels observed on the Ili River due to ice blockage downstream of the hydrological post, with further increases possible.
Abai Region: Ground blizzards expected in the southwest and central areas. Southwest winds transitioning to northwest with gusts of 15-20 m/s.
East Kazakhstan Region: Ground blizzards forecast for the north and east, with southeast winds shifting to northwest and gusts of 15-20 m/s.
Zhetysu Region: Southwest winds in the Alakol Lakes area with gusts of 15-20 m/s.
Forecasters clarified the weather forecast for winter 2024/2025 in Kazakhstan. It is noted that in general, the winter temperature regime is expected to be within the climatic norm with precipitation exceeding the long-term norm. However, periods with cessation of precipitation and abnormally low air temperatures are not excluded.
