What are you not allowed to carry in your luggage in Kazakhstan

Tengrinews.kz — Before traveling by train, passengers are advised to carefully check their luggage: some items are prohibited for transportation and may lead to serious consequences. Travelers have been reminded of the current safety rules on railway transport.
According to JSC “Passenger Transportation”, attempting to carry dangerous or prohibited items may result in administrative or criminal liability, depending on the circumstances.
What is not allowed
The following items are prohibited on trains:

explosive substances and pyrotechnics;radioactive, narcotic, and toxic substances;flammable liquids and solid materials;poisonous and biologically hazardous substances;any types of weapons — firearms, traumatic weapons, gas weapons, and cold weapons;ammunition.

These restrictions apply regardless of the route or the class of the train car.
How passengers and luggage are checked
Before boarding, passengers must undergo mandatory screening. Railway stations use X-ray scanners, metal detectors, and video surveillance systems, while police officers and security personnel are on duty.
In addition, video surveillance systems are being gradually expanded on trains. Cameras have already been installed in 630 Talgo train cars — a total of 1,350 devices — as well as in dining cars and bars on certain routes. Video footage is transmitted to a situation center for real-time monitoring.
Why these measures are needed
The security measures are aimed at preventing emergencies and ensuring passenger safety during travel. Travelers are encouraged to familiarize themselves with the rules in advance and to be understanding of security checks at railway stations.
