Turkey extradites to Kazakhstan a suspected serial fraudster

Tengrinews.kz – Staff of the Prosecutor General’s Office, together with Interpol and with the support of the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Turkey, have extradited a Kazakh citizen from Antalya. He is suspected of multiple counts of large-scale fraud.

According to the investigation, in 2019–2020 the suspect fraudulently obtained money and land plots belonging to four residents of Shymkent. The total damage amounted to about 95 million tenge.

After committing the crimes, the perpetrator fled to avoid punishment and was placed on an international wanted list.

The suspect was detained in Turkey and extradited to his home country. He has now been placed in a pre-trial detention facility.

For these crimes, criminal law provides for imprisonment for a term of 7 to 12 years with confiscation of property.
