Armenian Foreign Minister discuss regional issues with his Canadian counterpart
ArmInfo. Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan had a telephone conversation with his Canadian counterpart Melanie Joly.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the parties discussed regional and humanitarian issues. In particular, Mirzoyan presented the latest processes to normalize relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan, including work on border delimitation, emphasizing the importance of a clear commitment to the principle of territorial integrity and the 1991 Alma-Ata Declaration.
Touching upon the prospects for sustainable economic development in the South Caucasus, the head of the Armenian Foreign Ministry emphasized Armenia's interest in opening regional communications and the opportunities provided by the implementation of the "Crossroads of Peace" project developed by the Armenian government. He emphasized the basic principles of sovereignty, national competence, reciprocity and equality of rights underlying the program.
