Mahindra has unveiled an ambitious roadmap for the future, aiming to significantly expand its automotive product portfolio and production capacity.

Roadmap to 2030: Introduction of 23 New Vehicles

Mahindra’s strategic roadmap outlines plans to introduce a total of 23 new vehicles by the year 2030. This includes a diverse range of offerings, comprising 9 Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) SUVs, 7 Battery Electric Vehicles (BEVs), and 7 Light Commercial Vehicles (LCVs).

Enhanced ICE SUV Lineup

In the ICE SUV segment, Mahindra will introduce three mid-cycle enhancements to existing models, along with six completely new models. This demonstrates the company’s commitment to refreshing its lineup and staying competitive in the traditional automotive market.

Push Towards Electric Mobility

Mahindra’s focus on electric mobility is evident through its introduction of seven BEVs, including models like XUV.e8, XUV.e9, BE.05, BE.07, and BE.RALL-E. The company’s investment in electric vehicles reflects its dedication to sustainability and aligns with global trends towards reducing carbon emissions.

Expansion of Production Capacity

Mahindra’s capacity expansion plans are set to increase its overall SUV production capacity to 72,000 units per month by the end of Fiscal Year 2026. This substantial increase in capacity will enable Mahindra to meet growing demand for its vehicles and ensure timely delivery to customers across the country.

Massive Investment in Automotive Sector

To support its expansion plans, Mahindra has earmarked a total investment of Rs 27,000 crore over the next few years. This investment will focus on developing new models, enhancing manufacturing capabilities, and strengthening the company’s position in both traditional and electric vehicle segments.

Strategic Investments in Electric Mobility

A significant portion of Mahindra’s investment is allocated to Mahindra Electric Automobile Limited (MEAL), underscoring the company’s strategic shift towards electric mobility. The investment in MEAL reflects Mahindra’s commitment to developing cutting-edge electric vehicle technologies and infrastructure.

What we Think

Mahindra’s bold initiatives demonstrate its commitment to driving innovation and sustainability in the Indian automotive industry. With plans to launch 16 new SUVs and BEVs, increase production capacity to 72k units, and invest 27k crores, Mahindra is poised to shape the future of mobility in India.
